50 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
An ongoing weekly class where Teen learners can get together with other gamers to chat and discuss all things video games! This class is for teen students to get together with others with similar interests. This class will have a very loose structure, encouraging students to lead conversations. There will be a topic each week to get the discussions started, but then the conversation can go any direction the class decides. Students will be encouraged to share their favorite games. We will discuss what games we are currently playing. Information, tips, tricks, and more can be shared between us all. Students can share video clips, screenshots, other media, toys, collectibles, and anything else related to their love for gaming! (All media should be family friendly and age appropriate). Build something amazing in a game? Show it off! Got an extremely rare weapon in a game? Show it off! Finally beat that boss? Tell us about it! If a few students want to have an in-depth discussion about a certain game, I can send them to a breakout room where they can focus their discussion on that particular game while the rest of the class keeps the general discussion. I will go between classrooms to monitor and participate in the discussions. Students may find other gamers in which they want to play together with. They may want to exchange usernames or other info so they can play together. This exchange is up to the discretion of the parent. All students should get permission from their parents before sharing any personal information. Week of 8/01 – Console discussion Week of 8/08 – Mobile gaming Week of 8/15 – Old School Gaming Week of 8/22 – Nintendo These weekly topics are just a starting point to get the discussions going. The loosely structured class will allow for everyone to have a chance to talk about their favorite topics and see where the discussions go! Previous class attendance is not required to join in the discussion. Each class will be a new discussion! So join at any time! Sometimes we may play some games together or at the same time, however, that is not the main focus of this class. I personally game on PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Mobile. Some of my favorite games are Minecraft, Terraria, Fortnite, Clash Royale, Stardew Valley, Overwatch, Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, Pokemon and more! *Image used in class listing is my own image*
