Invite your friends and celebrate your birthday together! You'll have your own private, online studio where you'll customize and play video games with your friends and have a UME Instructor to teach you about game design.

UME's birthday events are a great way to celebrate your birthday with friends, especially in these socially distant times. Your friends will join you in the UME Studio where you'll play video games, make video games and then play each other's games!!! As the host, you are booking a private party for your child and their friends and family. Since this is a private party, you can invite anyone old enough to handle a mouse and keyboard. You will receive a link to share with your guests where they will register (it's free for them) their child for the party and receive instructions for logging in. You can invite up to 11 guests + your child. We cannot bake a cake, but we can sing happy birthday in our silliest voices. After the party, you will receive: 1. A video of the party 2. A link to see and play all of the games created in the party 3. Bragging rights for the best birthday party!

In this introductory class you will learn:
- The 4 Principles of Game Design
- Gain digital literacy in Unity, the most popular game making technology on the planet!
- Analysis of video games with thoughtful discussion about game mechanics

You will need a computer with Chrome or Firefox browser and keyboard. In addition to Outschool's Zoom communications, students will use UME's online game design platform, https://ume.games .

UME Academy was co-founded by Daniel Roizman and Jean Mistrot, two industry veterans who are passionate about teaching and technology and sit on the Unity Education Advisory Board.
