🎮 Create Your Own Epic Platformer Game in Scratch! 🌟 Get ready for an exciting journey into game development! In this class, students will learn what makes platformer games so cool, including how gravity, jumping, and challenges come together. Then, they'll build their own platformer adventure with Scratch! 🚀 ✨ What will we do? 🕹️ Code gravity and jumping! 🎯 Make characters move with arrow keys! 🎒 Add items to collect using conditionals! 🌀 Use loops for enemy movement! 🏆 Track scores or design custom characters (advanced students). Whether you're new to coding or already love creating games, this class is perfect for students ages 7-12. All skill levels are welcome! 👾 What makes this class awesome? Our small class sizes (just 6 students!) mean everyone gets plenty of one-on-one support from the teacher while coding a game they’ll be proud to share! This is an interactive, project-based class where students follow along as we guide them step-by-step through coding their game. the teacher will share their screen, provide live demonstrations, and troubleshoot with students in real time. 📅 What happens in class? 🎉 Welcome + Introductions (5 min) 🛠️ Scratch Setup + Login (5 min) 🌌 Learn about Platformer Games + Gravity (10 min) 💻 Create Your Platformer Game! Learning Goals
By the end of this class, students will confidently create Scratch projects while mastering key coding concepts like loops, variables, and conditionals. At Cypher, we prepare students with future-ready skills to succeed for life!

Parental Guidance
Students will use Scratch to participate in class. Students must access the Scratch account using a laptop or a computer in class (no smartphone or tablets). Students will use their own Scratch account to code while following instructions from the teacher. Students may continue to use their Scratch account outside of class.
Supply List
Learner Supply List: A free p5.js account at editor.p5js.org 🌐. A laptop or desktop with Zoom installed and screen-sharing enabled 💻. A stable internet connection (3mbps or higher) 🌍. A working speaker, microphone, and webcam 🎤🎥. All Windows and Mac operating systems from the last five years are supported 🖥️. ⚠️ iPads are not recommended. Please have an adult available for the first 5 minutes to assist with setup and troubleshooting.
