Class Experience
Welcome to Video Editing for Beginners! In this class, students will learn how to edit and create their own videos using the free video editing software, Davinci Resolve. This software has all the tools needed to create dynamic and visually exciting videos, and you will learn how to use the basic functions in order to build up your video from start to finish. More and more young people are getting into video editing, creating projects for home, school, for youtube, and for many other...
Before becoming a teacher, I was a graphic designer, and worked for an organization as creative administrator. I worked predominantly with Final Cut and Adobe, but have become more familiar with Davinci Resolve recently, and I love how user-friendly it is.
Students will need a computer with Davinci Resolve installed, and ideally, a second device to run the Outschool class on. Students will need to see both DR and Zoom for the lessons.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
In this class we use DaVinci Resolve, a free video editing programme. DaVinci is extremely memory-hungry and some computers struggle to get it running, so please ensure you have the software downloaded and tested before class starts so that any issues can be resolved.
