We will "take a trip" to 12 different Hispanic countries around the world and practice our Spanish speaking. In each lesson we will have a set of questions and vocabulary bank as a baseline. We will learn a bit about each country's culture.

I always like to give real-time feedback to students during class time as well as informal progress reports to guardians 2-3 times during the length of the course.Class Experience
This 6-week course is not like my previous two 6-week courses. Yes, we will practice speaking and reading in Spanish. However, we will also expand our cultural and geographical knowledge about the Hispanic world while communicating in Spanish in hypothetical authentic experiences. We will begin each class with a quick intro to the country we will focus on and a short virtual tour based on the setting of the lesson (i.e. the museum, the beach, the rainforest, etc.). Afterwards, I will give short, direct instruction on the vocabulary and grammar that we will use (with quick checks for understanding and formative assessments). Lastly, we will spend the rest of class time discussing what we see and answering the lesson's main questions in Spanish. (Do not worry! I will have scaffolding materials easily visible to students so that they can use them if they need an extra resource besides their notes.)

Students will grow to feel more comfortable expressing themselves in Spanish in different scenarios.Students will expand their knowledge about the Hispanic world.

Las montañas en España/The mountains in Spain
We will learn about the mountains in Spain and some Spanish culture, while discussing what we like to do there, why, when and with whom. Focus on the month of January. 35 mins online live lesson
Lesson 2:
La playa en Panamá/The beach in Panama
We will talk about different activities we can do and different clothes we can wear while at the beach in Panama. Focus on the month of February. 35 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
La ciudad en la República Dominicana/The city in the Dominican Republic
We will practice taking a trip in the city in The Dominican Republic and practice asking for and giving directions. Focus on the month of March. 35 mins online live lesson
Lesson 4:
El campo en Honduras/The countryside in Honduras
We will discuss things we can do and things/animals we might see in the countryside of Honduras. Focus on the month of April. 35 mins online live lesson

Parental Guidance
Students will need access to the PearDeck platform, Canva, Google Slides and Google Docs. I will sometimes use short YouTube clips to aid in the virtual tours.
Pre-Requisites
It would be best if learners complete the first 2 courses before taking this one:

I taught Secondary Spanish for the past nine years in Ohio. I have also taught English as a Second Language through an online platform called VIPKID for the past seven years.
