We will begin class by talking about what a veteran is and the five branches of the military. The students will be able to tell about any veterans that they know. The students will be asked what they know about Veterans Day and then they will learn the history of Veterans Day and why we have a Veterans Day. They will be able to tell the difference between Veterans Day and Memorial Day. The students will begin making a card for a veteran at the end of class. The students do not need any prior knowledge to enroll in this class.

I am a certified early childhood, elementary education, and reading specialist. I have been a teacher for over seventeen years. I have taught English as a second language for over six years. I love to use my degrees in psychology, history, political science, and biology to help students learn. I teach reading, ESL, history, and science classes. I think that students should have fun while learning. I love hockey and volunteering at the library and museum.
