Class experience
This 6 week book club will based on 2 of the books in the “Vet Volunteers” book series. Learners will be assigned a certain number of chapters for reading PRIOR to class, so access to the books from home or the library is required. Using the “flipped classroom” model, learners will read the chapters for the week and come to class ready to discuss their thoughts on what is going on in the story and how it might pertain to helping animals in real life. I have been a certified veterinary technician for more than 30 years and have been teaching at a local community college in a veterinary Assistant Program and a variety of Veterinary Science programs for grades 3-5, 6-8, and high school. I am also a homeschool mom! At home, my family has 3 mini horses, a Paint horse, 4 Nigerian dwarf goats, 9 chickens and 2 cats! I am passionate about sharing my experience and love for animals and veterinary medicine with all learners from diverse backgrounds from all around the world! If your learner has a dream to be a veterinary professional, then I am excited to help them on these first steps!
