Art is important for several different reasons. Through art, children can learn problem-solving skills, increase fine motor skills, and increases social-emotional learning. During this class, the learners will learn to create various winter landscapes using the style of Vincent Van Gogh. I will give a little background information about Van Gogh before we start painting. While we are painting, the learners will also learn about creating textures and using lines and shapes to create their works of art. They will also learn about creating landscapes. The class will be structured as follows: Greetings Demonstration Painting and Socializing Virtual Art Gallery I will teach using a demonstration of how to create the landscape we will be working on for each session. While we paint, we will socialize. This may include playing Would You Rather if the learners would like to do so. My teaching style is relaxed. I like to encourage students to add their own creative touches to their paintings. I like to point out the positive elements of the learner's art to help guide growth. The learners will get to interact with me and other learners throughout the lesson. Socialization is encouraged.
