Class Experience

Students will improve their understanding of verb types and tenses.
Students will be able to change a verb into any of the 12 tenses to improve grammar skills during writing.
Students will be able to use verb phrases to turn sentences into questions or negative statements.
Students will learn to use verbals such as gerunds, infinitives, and participles.
During weeks 1-5, students will be asked to complete an additional practice assignments. This may consist of worksheets, sentence writing tasks, or both.
Students will need to check the classroom before the beginning of each live session to print out the handouts for that week. Students will also need to come prepared with pencil and paper for taking notes and for recording answers to oral or other in-class questions. They may want to have a folder or binder to keep all of their work organized.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will be informally assessed by their level of class participation and their ability to correctly complete assignments. There will be a formal assessment at the end of the class in which students will be tested on the materials learned. A letter grade will not be given, but parents or students may request a certificate of completion for this course along with the results of the final assessment.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
