Beginner Level
Embark on a virtual expedition through our National Parks in this self-paced class. This class invites participants to explore the history, diverse landscapes, rich ecosystems, and awe-inspiring wonders found in America's national parks. This is Part 2 of a National Park Series and will cover the following parks: -Joshua Tree National Park -Acadia National Park -Denali National Park -Zion National Park Students will have access to teacher communication for the duration of this course (4 weeks) and teacher will respond within 24 hours. While this is part 2 of our series, you do NOT need to have completed part 1 in order to participate. Part 1 just featured different parks than this lesson. Joshua Tree National Park
Explore Joshua Tree National Park and all it has to offer. We will look at the ecosystems, the variety of wildlife and the plants within the park. We will discover any endangered species in the park and learn about conservation efforts. Students will engage in an interactive Nearpod activity and have additional printable resources to extend their learning at home. Lesson 2:
Acadia National Park
Explore the Acadia National Park and its beautiful ecosystem and wildlife within it. We will learn about the most common animals and plants within the park as well as fun facts about the park. Students will engage in an interactive Nearpod activity and have additional printable resources to extend their learning at home. Lesson 3:
Denali National Park
Explore the Denali National Park, the wildlife and plants within it and famous facts about the park. We will also learn about rare animals and any conservation efforts. Students will engage in an interactive Nearpod activity as well as additional printables to extend their learning at home. Lesson 4:
Zion National Park
Explore Zion National Park and the beautiful wildlife and plants within the park. Learn about endangered species within the park and other fun facts. Students will engage in an interactive Nearpod activity as well as additional printables to extend their learning at home. Other Details

Hi everyone! Welcome to class! I am Miss Kate. I have 15+ years of teaching experience with students ages 2-14 years old. I am passionate about early childhood education and building the foundation for life long learning. My classes will be engaging and focus on a variety of topics including early literacy, early math and life skills. I live in the Pacific Northwest with my husband and 3 (yes, three) big dogs!
I believe in engaging and playful learning and will teach my classes in a fun and interactive way including songs, digital & interactive games, and lots of interaction and opportunities for engagement.
I am certified to teach K-8 Elementary, K-12 Special Education and Early Childhood Education. In addition, I have a certificate in Child Psychology from Penn Foster, a certificate in Autism Studies from Arizona State University and a certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from Arizona State University. I love to teach and look forward to meeting your child!
