Hey guys, I just listed a new class! This is the four-week version of my very popular Vehicle Design Workshop. I created this new listing to make it available for more students in different time zones. If a time you prefer isnβt listed, feel free to request it. I occasionally rotate the topics, so students are welcome to retake this class in different months. Here are the principles weβll be covering in class: β Shape Analysis & Form Language: Each class will start with a reference image. I'll show students how to break it down into basic shapes, then add more detail by breaking it down further. Weβll also discuss aerodynamics and how to give your vehicles a sleek, cool design. β Shading and Reflections: Weβll cover inking and shading techniques, focusing on achieving the metallic effects seen in concept art. β Robot Mechanics: When drawing robots, I'll explain the basic mechanics of engineering, focusing on believable joint designs. I'll guide you through creating designs that look cool and functional without needing to draw every detail. β Perspective Drawing: We'll touch on some advanced perspective drawing techniques to enhance your designs, making this class suitable for intermediate to advanced artists. This class is perfect for students interested in STEM who want an art class to supplement their design skills, as well as artists looking to add a mechanical, engineering feel to their drawings. Whether you're building a spaceship, a robot, or a concept car, it all starts with a sketch. Who knows? Maybe youβll become the next Tony Stark!
Learning Goals
Master Shape Breakdown: Learn how to simplify complex designs by breaking them down into basic shapes, making it easier to create detailed, cool-looking vehicles and robots.
Develop shading and reflection techniques to give your drawings that polished, metallic finish seen in professional concept art.
