Description
Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
The goal of this class is for students to learn to make five different vegetarian snacks. They will also be connecting with other learners and finding out how delicious vegetarian snacks can be!
Students will be asked to watch the class videos and follow along to make their own snack. They should then post photos or videos of their snack in the classroom as well as participate in weekly challenges.
Equipment needed: - cutting board - knife - plates - spoons - oven (potato wedges) - toaster (avocado toast) - blender (smoothie bowl) - microwave (if using corn tortillas for veggie pinwheels) Ingredients (more details and substitution ideas will be given in the classroom): VEGGIE PINWHEELS // tortillas, broccoli slaw (or cut up veggies), hummus AVOCADO TOAST // bread, avocado, toppings of students' choice (hummus, sprouts, salt, pepper, hot sauce, etc!) POTATO WEDGES // russet potatoes, oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, dried oregano, paprika, parmesan cheese (regular or dairy-free) CHOCOLATE MOUSSE // vanilla yogurt (regular or dairy-free), unsweetened cocoa powder, honey, toppings of students' choice SPRING ROLLS // rice paper wrappers, filling of students' choice (rice, veggies, herbs, etc!) SMOOTHIE BOWLS // frozen fruit (any kind), toppings of students' choice
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Students will need to use a knife for the avocado toast, potato wedges, and spring roll recipes. I will discuss how to use the kitchen equipment safely, but adult supervision may be required if parents feel it is necessary.
Most recipes are my own (some inspired by recipes found on Pinterest), except for the potato wedges recipe (taken from the Tasty app).
