Students will practice refusal skills to say no when given the opportunity to vape.

Understanding Vaping
What vaping and e-cigarettes are and how they work, the history and evolution of these devices, and common types of devices

Ingredients and Chemicals
The components of e-liquids and their health effects on the body, especially the respiratory system

Lesson 3:
Short Term and Long Term Health Effects
Understanding the consequences of vaping such as the short term and long term effects. Also comparing the health impacts of vaping and smoking

Lesson 4:
The Impact on Teens and Young Adults
Investigating how vaping affects young people, why teens are attracted to it, the effects on adolescent brain development, and how teen vaping relates to addiction

We will refer to several case studies and articles from the National Institute of Health. Students will also be asked to visit federal and local government websites to research laws in regards to vapes.
