We will look at his expressive style of painting and use it as inspiration to create our own oil pastel sunflower. We'll talk about proportions as we draw together. We will also look at the color wheel to guide out color choices, and try out blending techniques to create our masterpiece! At the end of class, everyone will get to share their art with others and have a small discussion about what was learned!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! Welcome to my profile. My name is Caitie, and I'm an art teacher in Texas. I currently work at a Montessori school, teaching elementary art full time, but I also teach classes and camps, private studios, and our regional art museum. I LOVE that I get to combine my passion for art and shaping young minds into my career and wouldn't want to do anything else! I have a Bachelors of Fine Arts, focused in painting and printmaking. In addition to teaching, I am also a working artist and show my paintings in local museums and shops.
I enjoy painting, photography, yoga, playing with my dog, Roxie, and travelling. So far I've visited China, Taiwan, Belgium, England, France, and The Netherlands!
Thanks for stopping by, I'm looking forward to creating with your little artist in one of my hands on classes!
