In this holiday class, students will do a STEM experiment and make a Valentine's Day craft each class. We will also have some time to socialize and play some Valentine's Day games together.
Class experience
This class will provide students the opportunity to celebrate Valentine's Day with a STEM experiment and craft each class together! We will have some time to talk with one another, talk about things we love, and discuss what we observe happening in our experiments. After we have some discussion time, we will do our experiment, and then we will finish with a craft. I will help the students with each step of the crafts. Students will engage in a STEM experiment and make a Valentine's Day craft each class.
I have been teaching for many years both in classrooms and online. I also have my own young children at home who I enjoy making crafts and doing experiments with.
1 file available upon enrollmentClass 1-Skittles, plate, bowl of warm water, paper towels, 1 white paper plate, scissors, glue, assorted construction paper in red, purple, and pink colors, ribbon/string. **You will also have a heart template sent to you upon enrollment in class that can be printed and brought to class to help students cut out hearts. If you are unable to print before class, parent support with drawing hearts is appreciated!** Class 2-candy hearts, white construction paper, assorted construction paper in Valentine's Day colors (red, purple, pink), green and black marker, scissors, glue. *Please bring along heart template sent at enrollment. If you aren't able to print, parent support with making hearts is appreciated.** Class 3-Balloon (already blown up and tied), colored construction paper, scissors, glue, heart template (sent at enrollment time), red construction paper, white construction paper, black marker. Optional-googly eyes Class 4-milk, bowl, heart-shaped cookie cutter, red food coloring, q-tips, dish soap, paper towels, white paper plate, white construction paper, red construction paper, pink construction paper, pink tissue paper (if you don't have pink tissue paper, you can use pink construction paper), scissors, glue, black marker
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Parent support is appreciated off-camera to help with crafts and experiments as needed. (especially for younger students)
