Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello, Outschool families! My name is Mrs. Hedrick. I am a wife and home school mother of four. I have worked with youth over the past twenty years, and I am excited to have the opportunity to work with students through Outschool.
I enjoy teaching a variety of Math, Handwriting, Science and Art classes that incorporate hands-on learning through the use of tangible items. I am also passionate about teaching Math and Science classes through baking, crafts and art.
I currently hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education, which certifies me to teach all subjects K-8th grade, and a Master of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I also hold an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Administration and Supervision. I taught 4th grade in a public school setting for five years and have home-schooled my own children over the past fifteen years. I have served as the Vacation Bible School Director at my local church for the past twelve years, and I have worked with youth groups in various settings.
My motto is, "Learn By Doing," and I feel it is possible to engage students of all learning styles through an online platform. I believe in motivating students to become life-long learners, and I feel students learn best when they are actively involved and engaged. I look forward to teaching your learner with a hands-on approach in a positive and encouraging environment. I can't wait to see you in the classroom!
