Description

Class Experience

In this class students will learn what a pictograph is, how to interpret data on a pictograph with a scale of 1 and a scale of 2 (example: 1 heart= 2 candy hearts), and will get the opportunity to create their own pictograph using a box of candy hearts. This class is designed using the gradual release method where students are given very high support at the beginning of the lesson and are moved toward more independence at the end of the lesson. Students will be able to interpret pictograph data and create a pictograph using a graph scale (example: 1 heart= 2 candy hearts).

Students need to bring a box of candy hearts and a print out of their pictograph worksheets sent by me in the classroom prior to the day of our class.

45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
