Come and create a fun, no-sew pillow to celebrate Valentine's Day. Students will be led through the process of creating this pillow step by step. They will begin by piecing together the template that will be posted in the classroom prior to class for each learner to print out. We will then work through laying out the fabric, cutting and marking the fabric, and putting the pillow together. This will be a laid back class experience where learners should feel free to chat with others and ask questions or share their ideas. Please note that due to the nature of this course, the class can run a few minutes shorter than planned or a bit longer than planned. *Please make sure your learner has a very sharp pair of scissors to avoid frustration cutting through two layers of fleece.

I am a licensed K-8 teacher with 17+ years of experience teaching ages 2-16 in a variety of capacities. My classroom experience has mainly been in Kindergarten and Preschool but I have also taught two-year-old preschool, first grade, second grade, and fourth grade. My most important role is as a homeschool mom to three wonderfully curious children. We are a neurodiverse family and I believe in creating opportunities for all children to learn and grow. My teaching experiences include a variety of settings: Montessori, public schools, private schools, and international schools both in-person and virtual. I have been teaching English as a Second Language online for the last 5 years. I have taught in the US states of Colorado, Wisconsin, and New Mexico as well as the countries of Kuwait and Fiji. I love teaching young children using hands-on and multisensory approaches, including games and songs where I can. Learning should be fun and I always do my best to help children enjoy their journey.
I hold a Master of Education degree from Regis University in Colorado. My Bachelor of Music degree comes from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with an emphasis in Flute Performance. While in Kuwait I studied through the Educational Collaborative for International Schools and Cambridge University to obtain my International Teacher Certificate. I believe education is a lifelong journey and am always working to further my knowledge and skills through self-study, workshops, and courses.
I am passionate about traveling and learning about different cultures. I live with my husband and three children in the USA. Together we enjoy hiking, traveling, swimming, playing games, and learning together.
