Valentine Heart Math: Story and Puzzle
Students will practice math skills while listening to a Valentine story. They will get to make a puzzle and practice matching numbers and objects.

Students will help Lester the Lion deliver "love Letters" to his friends. Students will practice listening and following directions. They will practice counting, adding, and subtracting while they listen to this valentine story. The students will then make a heart puzzle matching game. If your child is young and needs help cutting you may cut the puzzle pieces out before class. The puzzle will let them practice matching numbers and objects. Students will need conversation hearts, paper hearts, or ten small objects and the handouts for class. Come and celebrate Valentine's day with me.

Hello! My name is Amy. I have been teaching children for nearly my entire life. I love helping children grow and hope to help them love learning. I graduated from Southern Utah University. I earned a double major in elementary education and special education. I have a minor in child development. I have over 20 years experience. My first job was teaching Kindergarten. I incorporated reading, math, and science into my lessons. Not only did they learn their ABC's, but they were introduced to a variety of topics including gravity and space! My next experience was organizing and teaching a neighborhood preschool. I have worked with children from K-12 as a substitute teacher and online. I also volunteered at the local elementary school to help students improve their reading skills. I teach ESL online and I have my TESOL certificate. I have taught children cooking, sewing, and craft classes in our local 4-H program. I enjoy working with all age groups. I just love teaching!
