CLASS EXPERIENCE: MINECRAFT BEDROCK EDITION. This edition can be played on PC, Mac, Android, and iOS. We will NOT be using Minecraft Java Edition. AGE RANGE: This class is designed for all ages and skill levels. Basic knowledge of English and Computers will be highly beneficial. Prior experience with Minecraft is not required. CLASS OVERVIEW: In this class we will be learning about the history of the USSR in the video game of Minecraft. The USSR was a very secretive place for the second half of the 20th century. Today we know much more about life within the USSR. We now know how people lived and what their experiences were like. We will be looking at various key events of USSR history in this lesson in order to get a good understanding of Soviet life. History should be taught in a more engaging way to students and Minecraft really does this. We will take a tour of a town within the USSR through the game of Minecraft. We will see some Soviet architecture and learn what life was like in Soviet towns. We will see the USSR like never before! The USSR should not just be kept in the history books.
Learning Goals
In this class we will start our tour in a Soviet town. We will learn what everyday life was like for the people who lived here. We will get to see how Communism impacted every part of their life. We will also talk about key events in the history of the USSR, such as the creation of the Berlin Wall. History will be brought to life!

Parental Guidance
Some of the topics being discussed will involve sensitive topics, such as religion and war. This course will provide multiple viewpoints and come from a neutral standpoint. History is not always positive and this course will reflect this. The class is designed for children and is suitable for all ages.
Supply List
A Minecraft account (also known as Minecraft Bedrock Edition) must be purchased by the learner. Learners will receive access to the Minecraft server address to connect to. Minecraft Java Edition will NOT work. A pair of headphones and microphone are also needed.
