Class Experience

Math can be fun! In this class, we will use online video games to review math facts. This is an ongoing class, so learners can come and go as they please. Each meeting we will review a different concept. It is important to continually review math facts because they are the basic skills needed to excel in higher math concepts. I promise to make this a fun, competitive, and engaging class. You will not feel like you are actually studying because you will be having fun! I strongly encourage inviting your friends to this class, because the more people we have in class, the more fun it is!!!
Prior knowledge required for this class: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
*This class is designed to STUDY these concepts. I will not provide direct instruction on HOW to perform these operations, but rather repetitive review to help students study.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Kirsten Ambrose and I am a certified English Teacher. I currently teach 6th grade ELA in a public school. I also have experience teaching 7th and 8th grade. On Outschool, I am offering engaging reading, writing, and math classes. When it comes to reading, research shows there are so many benefits. It is my mission to share engaging books with all kids (even the ones who don't like to read)! In my classroom, I value my students' voices. I think it is so important to create an environment where students feel they can share their ideas safely. I always aim to create engaging lessons that students can relate to and that they find enjoyable. I want students to know that learning can be fun! On a personal note, I do a lot of reading and writing myself as I am in graduate school to become a Principal! I share this information with my students because I want them to know that the skills and strategies I am teaching them, I use in my own life! If you are searching for classes that teach important skills and are fun, please consider me!
P.S. I love dogs.
