In this one time lesson, learners will learn how to use contexts to understand new words.

In this class, I will give the learners an example of identifying a new unknown word by the context it is written in. I will talk about thinking of words we already know that are similar eg circle and circular that can also give us clues about the meaning of a new word. Then I will put a set list of middle school vocabulary words into sentences and ask the learners to work out the meaning of the vocabulary word. I will use a set list of vocabulary for this class.
