"This is such a unique and creative class focusing on critical thinking for children who are interested in veterinary science or animal care." Parent "This class has my daughter hooked after the first session!" Parent "This is my daughter's favorite class!" Parent I am the co-author, along with my husband, Dr. Ed Blesy, of the popular BE THE VET book series which has sold 1000s of books over the past several years. Students will learn about one specific veterinary case per week but will gain understanding of how a veterinarian decides to best help a sick or injured animal.
I am the co-author of the popular book, BE THE VET. The other co-author is my husband, veterinarian Dr. Ed Blesy. Dr. Ed wrote the veterinary information based upon his twenty + years of veterinary experience while explaining veterinary terminology for student understanding. This case and treatment are fictionalized based upon one doctor’s experience. It was important for us to write a book where the readers get to feel as if they are part of the experience using the context clues from my stories. I am also a former certified elementary school teacher and the author of over 25 books for children. BS in elementary education MS in educational administration
There is no homework.
*Students will need paper and a pencil/highlighter. *I will upload the story each week to the classroom to be printed off before class. Thank you.
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
