Description

Class Experience

Students will learn to recognize and define text structures, so that they can use them to capture and express their own poetic insights.
I've taught reading and writing to multiple ages for several years, and I also have served as an instructional coach. I have a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and another master's degree in Educational Leadership.

I absolutely love to write and share the joy of writing, and I've taught writing for several years. I understand that writing isn't everyone's cup of tea, so I am beyond happy to share some ways to bring your words to the surface. Oftentimes, it's just a matter of sorting out
There will be no homework, as this is a one-time session. The student may want to make additions, edits, and revisions to his or her poem after our session.
Learners should have paper and pencil in order to create their writing products. They may type and save into a document if they are already comfortable with that process. I'll supply the poem, vocabulary list, and other other needed materials for this class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Assessment is done informally through our discussions, and also through the poetic product each student creates during the session.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
