There are many benefits to using flashcards: math formulas/facts, foreign language vocabulary, science terms, people's names... I could go on! And although there are many digital flashcard creators online, I always find that the most effective flashcards for my learning are the ones that I can create myself and customize with visuals that help my brain make connections. With Google slides, you can add sounds, gifs, charts, and more to help you remember what you are practicing! In this one-time, hour long course, we will learn how to create custom flashcards that will feel like your very own custom-made app. In class we will: -Use material that the student wants to make flashcards for if they have something in mind (I can provide example material to practice with) -Create each "side" of the flashcards with custom images and/or media -Create links to allow the student to go back and forth with each "side" of the card, go back to the start page, choose categories, etc. To take this class, students should know how to create a slide presentation and most of the slide features. If your student does not feel comfortable with slides yet, try my "Use Google Slides to Make a Presentation" class!

External Resources
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Meagan Khatthaname and I am an elementary teacher who is now teaching fourth grade. I am a former computer teacher who loves teaching Scratch coding and computer skills!
Beginner Scratch courses
I will be offering various Scratch courses for students to learn the basics of Scratch and how to make games and projects. Send me a question to ask about private classes, too!
Homeschool Computer classes
I offer private computer classes for students who are homeschooled or want to supplement their regular classes with computer/tech classes. I also have some group Google slides classes.
I received my Bachelor's in Elementary Education from UMKC in 2013
I taught in a brick and mortar public school for 6 years as a 4th-grade classroom teacher then a computer and STEM teacher.
I am TESOL certified (since 2015)
I taught ESL online for 3 years, but I'm now back into the classroom teaching 4th grade again!
When it comes to kids' learning, the sky is truly the limit. Too often I think kids are underestimated in just what they can accomplish. Giving children the opportunity to explore their talents and interests is such an important thing! As an educator, I have felt that exploring a child's strengths is the best way to help them succeed in life. Fostering a child's interests into lifelong skills not only helps them succeed but allows them to feel empowered and confident!
