Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 5
Embark on an exciting journey across the USA with our engaging "State Exploration Adventure!" Over 25 weeks, we will dive into the unique culture, history, and fascinating facts of two states each week. Each class will be a dynamic blend of interactive discussions, stimulating slideshows, captivating videos, and intriguing audio clips that bring each state to life. Students will actively participate by sharing their insights and asking questions, fostering a collaborative learning environment. Join us for this enriching experience and discover the amazing diversity of our nation, one state at a time!

A printable cover(gray, blue, or pink), a USA map outline to be colored in as we learn about each state, and a fill-in-the-blank worksheet will be available for your learner to print each week if he or she would like to fill in the blanks as we learn together. These pages can easily be put into a binder or folder to create an entire collection of the 50 states! The answers to the fill-in-the-blanks will be posted in the classroom after each class so students can refer to any answers they may have not written down during class. *You can print the fill-in-the-blank pages back to front to save paper each week.

*Please note: Your learner may join at any point as a new section will begin from week one following the last class of each section.

Facts that will be introduced each week: state name/location, abbreviation, nickname, statehood number, population/size, capital/largest city, state bird, state mammal, a state insect, state flower, state tree, state vegetable/fruit, state beverage, state instrument, natural resources, agriculture, fun facts, and famous people.

A few sources that will be used in this class are the slideshows that I personally create using information from the internet. We will sometimes view very short clips from YouTube that the teacher has viewed and assured are appropriate for young children. These may be a song or a virtual tour.
