This class goes over the main rock forming events that contributed to the geology of Northern America, focusing especially on the USA. We will look at the main mountain ranges & famous landscapes & discover how they were formed.

Description
Class Experience
To discover and learn without realising it, because you are having fun! By the end of this course students will know how to read and understand the geological map of the USA as well as know what kind of rocks each colour on the map represents. They'll also know how this relates to the amazing geological features found in Northern America.
I have a BSc in Geology and an MSc in Geophysics and have chosen the most interesting and exciting subjects to teach to get young minds fascinated by Earth Sciences.
None. Although (on request) students can be directed to other external sources discussing this area of Geology. I can also schedule a discussion group, or more advanced classes, if your child wants to explore this subject further.
None. Although (on request) the student can be sent a quick quiz on the lesson to test what they remember from the class.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This class uses screen share to show PowerPoint slides with text and pictures. Some classes also show short videos. No other 3rd party tools are used.
