Students will learn fun facts about a different US national park each week as well as how to create a beautiful art scene of the park. Students will have the opportunity to share their own experiences if they have been to the park, what they hope to see in the future or what they like about the park. My goal for this class is to get kids exciting about exploring all the amazing parks the US has to offer and have them enjoy creating art together. It will be a learning, social and artistic club. What students will learn about the national parks: Location, when it was established, size What makes the park special/unique View pictures of the Park 3 Fun facts What Students will learn about art: How to make a sketch of a landscape scene How to paint with acrylics, use pastels, color and blend with colored pencils *We will alternate what medium we will be using every 4 weeks. Students are welcome to use whatever materials they have as well. The sketch at the beginning will always be together regardless of what we are using to add color.
I have a passion for the outdoors and love art. This class combines two of my favorite things! I have been to many national parks as well as state parks and love exploring the beautiful country I live in. I have a degree in Theater Arts and scenic painting was one of my favorite classes. I have been drawing and painting for many years. I love teaching kids how to paint and draw while instilling confidence in their artistic abilities.
