I love teaching students about US History. I have taught US history for many years to middle school age students. I try to make it engaging by telling it in a story format, as well as, providing the factual information that students need to understand the history of the US. I also try to use hands-on activities and graphic organizers when I can so that students can process the information. I love for students to share what they know and discuss these events together.
All curriculum materials will be provided by the teachers. Students will need a notebook or binder to keep notes, handouts, and foldables in. Students will need access to a printer to print out materials and handouts. Some activities may call for the use of color pencils/ crayons, scissors, and glue.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
•	weekly discussion questions and peer/teacher responses.
•	watching recorded lesson videos and/or fill out a graphic organizer provided each week to accompany discussion videos.
•	completing assignments/activities that include analyzing primary and secondary documents.
•	completing lesson specific projects to share with the class.
•	Weekly short quizzes.

Grading (optional)
Parents can indicate if they want their student(s) to receive a formal numerical grade or not. The course isn't dependent on grades, but it is available for parents who request it. After each section, is a short quiz that students can use to assess what they learned and what information they retained.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
