Welcome to the 1990's! In this class, we will take a look at what made this decade so iconic. 1. George Bush Sr.; No New Taxes; Gulf War; Election of 1992 2. Bill Clinton - From his unusual election, to policies and scandal 3. Technology - World Wide Web; Internet becomes available for unrestricted commercial use; AOL and Google 4. Students will learn about what made the 1990's so iconic. They will have a better understanding of the presidential terms of both Bush and Clinton, the birth of the internet, the L.A. riots, the Oklahoma City Bombing, pop culture, the reception of the first Harry Potter Book, popular toys and how everyone prepared for technology to crash on Y2K.
I have been an educator on Outschool since February of 2018. I have my MBA and MHA, both of which have taught me the value of conducting research and asking questions. I have a passion for history and learning. You can usually find me in the middle of 2-3 books or watching a documentary.

We will be discussing many aspects of culture in the 1990's, so topics of sexism, racism, war, and discrimination will come up. Weeks 4 (the L.A. Riots), 5 (Waco, World Trade Center bombing), and 7 (Oklahoma City Bombing) will cover acts of violence. These will be handled in an age appropriate manner. There may be some Youtube videos that are seen during this class. I will share my screen and learners will not need to access them on their own.
