Description
Class Experience
In our last class learners will present their projects. We will discuss how to do the projects throughout the weeks. Students will choose one State for their presentation. They will use this presentation to demonstrate what they have learned about the state they chose. They are welcome to be creative with what type of presentation they do! We will go over different ideas in the weeks leading up to the presentation. Learners should use their creativity to decide on what type of project they want to do, and what information they want to include that best demonstrates their knowledge of the state. Some possible ideas are: make a poster, make a shoe box diorama, write a one-page report, make a travel brochure, write a poem or a song.
2 files available upon enrollmentStudents should bring a spiral-bound notebook or binder and looseleaf paper to class. They should also bring crayons, colored pencils, or markers to each class. Before the first class, print both of the attachments. One is a US outline map, the other attachment is a statehood timeline.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
2 hours 15 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Students will memorize the 50 states and their capitals. Here is a link to the song will we be using to learn these: https://youtu.be/bx6c_EefZAQ
