Eid Mubarak! In this one-time Urdu class, students will learn fun words and phrases related to Eid. Each learner will have several opportunities to hear and say the specific vocabulary and phrases. We will discuss all the decorations you might see during Eid, and we will talk about the different activities that take place during Eid such as baking cookies, decorating the house, wrapping presents, getting Eidi (Eid money) etc. We will learn vocabulary related to clothes like sherwani ,kameez shalwar , gharara, sharara and accessories like mehndi and chooriyan(bangles).We will learn the dessert names like sheerkhurma in Urdu along with the verbs like decorating(sajana), celebrating (jashan manana).We will form I like/I don't like sentences with the items of decoration, clothes , desserts and accessories in Urdu. All the decorations and activities will be taught to learn and increase the Urdu wordbank for children .Visual props will be used as well as a Canva presentation. We will have an Eidi time and sing an Eid song in Urdu.If time permits we will also color an Eid card together . **NOTE - This class will be in Urdu so some familiarity of the language is required This class will be taught to learn the language .It will not be from a religious perspective*** **Any songs and books read will be from the singer and author's perspective***

Supply List
Handouts will need to be printed by a parent prior to the start of class. The handouts will be available at least one day before the class meeting. Each student will need their own set of crayons, colored pencils, or markers . Your child is welcome to wear their favorite or any other Eid themed outfit.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
