This is a life-changing course (and this is not an exaggeration). Learning how to write critically is an invaluable skill for all areas in life - whether that's school or work. It's a fundamental skill for academic and professional advancement and the sooner you begin, the sooner you will be able to master writing skills. Some of us have struggled with getting the grades we think we can get - and for many, it's just a matter of mastering essay structure (i.e. the way we put ideas together) and language fluency (i.e. the way we write / e.g. not using the words "good" or "bad"). In addition, with public schools having student to teacher ratios of +30:1, how much time is there for extensive writing opportunities and more importantly - individualized feedback? Answer: not much. Writing is also about opportunities to write more. This course is life-changing because once you master the fundamentals, your confidence will increase, and your writing will just "flow". Hundreds of students as young as 3rd grade have improved significantly in some of the country's most competitive school districts (e.g. Irvine, CA). Start today.
Learning Goals
Students will be expected to breakdown each paragraph to its most fundamental units. For example, we won't just go over "Introduction" paragraph as hook, bridge, and thesis. But we will also look at how the "bridge" actually connects the "hook" and "thesis". The learning outcome is that students will master the fundamental structure of an essay and will expected to self-diagnose their deficiencies and aptly adjust.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi!
I'm David and I am an experienced critical reading and writing instructor. I have helped hundreds of students overcome challenges in writing fundamentally sound essays (both expository and literary analysis essays). I have been a top instructor for some of the world's largest and premium organizations for learning critical reading and writing.
Over the years, I have developed a method that will help learners of varying degrees understand how to systematically approach writing essays. This has led to so many learners gaining confidence in their own abilities as both a critical reading and writer.
The benefits extend beyond just writing. You will be equipped for many standardized tests and school courses (e.g. History, English, and the SAT/ACT).
Honestly, I wish I had a system like the one I teach when I was growing up!
See you soon!
