I am a licensed French teacher grades preK-12 and I would love to meet your student in my class! I have over 10 years teaching experience in-person and over 3 years teaching experience online with students ages 4-14. I have lived for a year in Aix-en-Provence, France where I taught ESL in a private school. I have also traveled to Quebec, Canada 4 times with my middle school students. In the classroom for over 10 years, I have been required to teach about over 20 francophone countries as a requirement of the Virginia Standards of Learning for French. In addition, my classes always follow the National Foreign Language Association’s 5 C’s of language learning, which includes culture. In this course, students will learn about 10 different francophone countries. They will learn where they are on a map, why they speak French, and how French in used in their country.
There will be no formal homework, however each class, the teacher will encourage the student to speak and practice what we learned in class in their free time.
Please bring your positive attitude and excitement to learn something new!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The teacher will listen to the student's pronunciation and address any sounds that need to be practiced/corrected as a whole to the class.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
