Description
Class Experience
In this one-time class, learners will take an old t-shirt and turn it into a bag without the use of sewing. Learners will discuss what upcycling is and why it is good for the environment. We will also brainstorm other ways to upcycle t-shirts and other common household items. This class will be in an "I do, you do" fashion to ensure all learners are able to follow along. Discussions will take place while learners are cutting, tying, and designing their shirts. No prior experience is...
This class is taught in English.
Learners will need an old t-shirt and scissors. The t-shirt can be any size. The smaller the shirt, the smaller the bag. Regular school scissors will be fine, but learners can choose fabric scissors if desired. Fabric markers are optional.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Learners will be using scissors to cut through fabric. Regular school scissors should work fine, but if families choose to use sharper scissors, caution must be used.
