Class experience
Students will: -spiral cut tarn (t shirt yarn) - understand the principles of, and practice using finger crochet - learn a single crochet stitch, and a rope crochet stitch - learn how to start and end a crochet piece -learn to crochet in a round Students will learn in a hands-on format, creating along with the instructor in real time. During working sessions we will discuss the problems caused by the fast fashion industry and why we are choosing to use "waste" materials in our art....
Students will need 8 to 12 articles of clothing, a crochet hook (between 5mm and 8mm) and a pair of sharp scissors. Viewing the documentary "The True Cost" https://truecostmovie.com/ prior to the course would help to enhance students' learning.
