Students will begin the class introducing themselves and reviewing classroom expectations. From there, students will begin the lesson by viewing a collage and discussing what they see. Students will then be led in a teacher demonstration on how to create their own inspired close up animal collage. The teacher will begin the demonstration by using textured paper to create the face of the animal or the fur. Then students will use a separate sheet of paper and coloring materials to draw the eyes, nose, and mouth. Lastly students will use scissors to cut the facial features out and glue them on top of the collage. This lesson is structured to have an introduction, group discussion, demonstration, independent work time, and conclusion. Students will learn through teacher led instruction and group discussion.
