Our first meeting will be an introduction (or review) of the order of operation using only positive (unsigned) numbers and an introduction to the number line and absolute value. We will learn to identify signed numbers and determine which is greater than/less than. * We will work on several homework-style problems in class. * An ability to add and subtract unsigned numbers as well as a familiarity with the multiplication table will be helpful. * This class will include lecture and practice...
Students should learn to use the order of operations with integers (signed numbers). Students will also learn the meaning and value of integers and absolute value.
Students will be given 3-5 homework problems. Completing it as homework is optional, but recommended.
A summary PDF will be provided after each lesson.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
