Description

Class Experience

I decided that the traditional college route was not for me. I graduated with my B.S. in Psychology (Summa Cum Laude) and my M.S. in Psychology (Distinguished honors) online. Currently, I am an EdD doctoral candidate (also online), and my dissertation is on untraditional college options for high school homeschoolers. Additionally, I am an online college professor and the deputy director of a homeschool organization.
Homework will be in the form of essays and templates. The final project of the class will be designing a figurative plan and will be built upon the previous homework assignments.
Pencils for if the learner chooses to print out the templates.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Learners will be asked to utilize external resources mentioned in the materials section.

YouTube
-YouTube is mentioned as an external website, but learners will not be asked to go directly to YouTube. The videos posted on Mondays will be links to YouTube but will not require the learner to exit the Outschool classroom.
-Learners will "click to watch video" regarding the YouTube videos.

Nearpod
-Learners will use the code posted in the classroom and require them to go to the Nearpod website/app. The Nearpod website/app will be where the students answer the essay response questions.

16Personalities
-During week 1, learners will be asked to go directly to the 16Personalities website to complete the Myers-Briggs test. The Myers-Briggs test will be part of the homework for their first essay.
-The purpose of 16Personalities is to help the learner gain a higher understanding of what careers would be something that would "fit" with their personality type.
-The learner does not have to select a career path based on their personality type, but it is a good roadmap for them to use to help them learn more about their personalities.
