In this 4-week class, you will learn all about King Tut, Egypt's "Boy King!" We will explore King Tut's life, reign, death, and tomb discovery as well as the mysterious Curse of the Pharoahs. Each class will feature an original text read aloud by me, Mrs. B! I will utilize common instructional strategies to help learners retain the information, including breaking down key vocabulary and revisiting key points. At the end of the reading, learners will be provided with a Google Form link to answer standards-aligned comprehension questions and to respond to an engaging writing prompt. The final class will have a Quizizz to complete as the final assessment. *Lesson 1: The Life and Reign of King Tutankhamun – Explore King Tut’s short reign, his family background, and his impact on Ancient Egypt. *Lesson 2: The Discovery of King Tut’s Tomb – Learn about Howard Carter’s famous 1922 discovery, the treasures found, and the significance of the tomb’s preservation. *Lesson 3: Mysteries and Theories: How Did King Tut Die? Read about various theories surrounding his death, including disease, injury, and assassination. *Lesson 4: The Curse of the Pharaohs: Myth or Reality? – Investigate the legend of the mummy’s curse and whether there’s any scientific basis behind it. My teaching style is laid-back, positive, and responsive to the needs of each learner. I will provide constructive feedback for each student upon the completion of each week's lesson. I am available to support students throughout the course.
