Class Experience

US Grade 7 - 10
Beginner Level
In today’s fast-paced world, self-learning has become an essential skill for both personal and professional growth. This class, Unraveling the Benefits of Self-Learning, is designed to equip learners with the tools, strategies, and mindset needed to take charge of their own education. Through engaging discussions, interactive activities, and practical examples, students will learn how to navigate different teaching styles and content, as well as how self-learning can complement traditional education and open doors to endless opportunities.
This class is perfect for curious, motivated learners eager to expand their knowledge and skills independently. Additionally, it is designed to challenge students and encourage openness to new learning approaches. Whether your child is a budding scientist, an aspiring artist, or simply someone who loves to learn, this class will provide valuable insights into the power of self-directed learning.
Students will explore the fundamental types of education and how self-learning fits into them. They will also discover how self-learning can deepen their understanding of subjects taught in school and help them develop essential skills that may not always be covered in traditional education.
Teaching Methods
I will use a combination of approaches to ensure the class is both engaging and effective, including:
• Interactive Lectures – Short, focused presentations to introduce key concepts.
• Group Discussions – Opportunities for students to share their thoughts, ask questions, and foster mutual learning.
• Games and Activities – Fun, interactive exercises that reinforce learning and keep students engaged.
• Multimedia Tools – Slides, video clips, and visual aids to make content more dynamic and relatable.
• Practical Exercises – Hands-on activities where students can apply self-learning techniques in real time.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is narrative-deductive, interactive, supportive, and student-centered. I strive to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels encouraged to participate and share their ideas. I make the class engaging and relatable by using real-world examples and tailoring the content to students' interests.
Student Engagement
Learners will have multiple opportunities to interact with me throughout the class. I encourage active participation through:
• Live Discussions – Guided by the Kepner-Tregoe model, students can ask questions and share their thoughts during lectures and group activities.
• One-on-One Support – I provide personalized feedback and guidance to help students apply self-learning strategies effectively.
• Interactive Activities – Students will work on exercises and games, with my active guidance and support.
By the end of this class, students will have a clear understanding of how to take charge of their own learning journey, along with practical tools and strategies they can begin using right away. This class is not just about learning—it’s about empowering students to become lifelong learners!
