This course will introduce learners to the nursing field, allowing them to explore and research various careers. They will also learn about admissions requirements, prerequisites, and different nursing degrees, and how to prepare for them.

1 hour per week. Students will be assigned two assignments. The first assignment, due in week 4, involves watching a video about a day in the life of a nurse and then completing a reflective activity. The second assignment, due in week 6, is a career exploration worksheet, which we will begin working on in class during week 4, and students will finish it on their own.Assessment
- A Kahoot quiz activity will be used at the end of some classes to assess all students' learning. - During Career Research Week (Week 3), students will conduct career research using class time and resources such as Onet- https://www.onetonline.org/ and Occupational Outlook- https://www.bls.gov/ooh/. - Students will watch a video (less than 20 minutes) depicting the day-to-day life of nursing and will then complete a reflective activity.Class Experience

Beginner - Advanced Level
-The course will introduce students to the nursing profession, different career paths available to them, nursing school, and academic pathways to a career in nursing. Additional details are available in the syllabus. -The teacher will initiate a dialogue at the start of each class to assess students' existing knowledge and help them feel at ease. -The teacher will deliver the course material using a PowerPoint presentation and occasionally show other videos. The teacher will pose questions and encourage students to engage in dialogue via chat or by unmuting themselves. -Depending on the number of students, the teacher may use breakout rooms for some weeks to facilitate classroom discussions. In week 4, the teacher will engage the students in a career research activity, and in week 6, a college research activity. -Learners will engage in a Kahoot quiz at the end of each class each week. -Learners are encouraged to share their comments and ask questions throughout the class.. The lesson provides an overview of the nursing profession and reviews the nursing roles and responsibilities of RNs and LPNs.

Lesson 2:
Career Paths in Nursing
The lesson is about different specialties in nursing (e.g., pediatrics, geriatrics, oncology). We will review non-bedside roles in nursing and advanced nursing specialties ( nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, and nurse aesthetics).

Lesson 3:
Educational Pathway to Nursing
The lesson will focus on the academic requirements for nursing programs. We will go over an overview of nursing degrees, including the differences between ADN, BSN, DNP, and PhD. Furthermore, we will discuss the variances between diplomas, associate degrees, bachelor's degrees, and advanced degrees in nursing.
