1 hour per week. I am looking for individual participation, speaking up, and just trying new things! I will ask the learners to make a list of their successes, pick some of their top values, bring in something they want to share, and possibly (if comfortable) a short public speaking assignment at the end. Most of this is in class, some carry over will be during the week if they choose to finish or discuss with family. My class is all about encouragement and short victories. Everyone has their own comfort level and style of learning and this class helps them all learn about each other and work with others, while growing in their own confidence.Certificate of Completion

US Grade 6 - 8
Over the next 8 weeks, your tween or teen (6th–8th grade) will discover how to embrace their strengths, understand their emotions, and connect with others—all while building the confidence to take on life’s challenges. This isn’t just a class—it’s a chance to grow, thrive, and gain tools that will last a lifetime. What We’ll Cover: Emotional Intelligence: Learn how to recognize emotions in yourself and others, manage stress, and build empathy for stronger relationships. Confidence & Self-Esteem: Overcome self-doubt and embrace your unique talents. Effective Communication: Practice public speaking, active listening, and expressing yourself clearly and respectfully. Friendship & Teamwork: Explore how to make and keep meaningful connections through inclusivity and trust-building activities. Resilience & Overcoming Challenges: Develop a growth mindset to face obstacles with courage and optimism. What to Expect: Hands-On Activities: Fun challenges, team-building games, and exercises that make learning come alive. Real Talk Discussions: Honest, relatable conversations about emotions, confidence, and navigating middle school life. Inspiring Media: Short videos, TED Talks, and movie clips that break down emotional intelligence and confidence in ways teens can relate to. Practical Tools: Journaling, perspective-taking exercises, and other strategies to build self-awareness and emotional control. Safe, Supportive Space: A welcoming environment where individuality is celebrated, and everyone feels encouraged to grow. *Because this class is highly interactive, I ask that learners have their screens on, bring something to take notes with, and come with a willingness to speak up and try new things. I realize that some may be introverted, shy, or not naturally outgoing—I fully get that and won’t push too hard. But the point of this class is to learn more about ourselves and stretch beyond our comfort zones. **I’ve worked with tweens and teens from diverse backgrounds, including those with Asperger’s syndrome, ODD, anxiety, and more. If you’d like to share any details about your learner ahead of time, feel free—but it’s entirely up to you. I’m here to create a safe, supportive space for growth.
