Welcome witches and wizards! Are you ready to embark on a magical journey? In this book club, we will read the fourth book in the magical Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire! Whether this is your first time reading the book or you're already a huge fan of the series, this book club will be filled with magic for everyone! Each week, we will engage in fun, thought-provoking discussions. You will love this book and the opportunity to discuss it with other young witches and wizards! All reading will be done outside of class, so be sure to come to class prepared. All students will be encouraged to participate in class discussions. Class schedule: **Students should read chapters 1-5 before the first session Session 1- Welcome! Class discussion norms overview and getting to know each ither. Discuss chapters 1-5 Session 2- Chapters 6-11 Session 3- Chapter 12-17 Session 4- Chapters 18-21 Session 5- Chapters 22-25 Session 6- Chapters 26-30 Session 7- Chapters 31-34 Session 8- Chapters 35-37 **Learners in this course should already have read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban before joining this class**
Learning Goals
Students will read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Students will practice reading comprehension skills in response to weekly discussion questions.
Students will practice their speaking and listening skills by engaging in class discussions.
