30 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
Let's make geography come to life by combining it with hands-on fun in the kitchen! In this class, we will focus on a different state in the United states each week. We will locate the state on a map, then spend time learning about what makes that state unique: including its capital, climate, famous landmarks, the state's symbols, things each state is known for, little-known interesting facts, and more! Learners will be invited to share whether they have visited the focus state and/or anything they may already know about it. Discussions will be meant to develop an understanding of the geography and diversity of the 50 United States. After learning about that week's state, we will prep, create, and (if it does not need additional setting time) taste a treat that is related to the state! It may be a dish that is local to only that state, or one that the state is well known for. The time required to prepare the recipes each week may vary slightly, depending on the number of learners enrolled and their age/ability level, so some recipes may need additional setting or cooking time. Please note that some recipes may require the use of the oven or stovetop, and learners may need assistance with this. This is a great way to encourage your child to try different foods and flavors they may not otherwise be interested in! Recipes will utilize common ingredients that are easily accessible. *This is an ongoing class, but you may join/leave as needed and able. Each class will be able to stand alone.* Class Schedule: November 19: Delaware / Strawberry Pretzel Salad in a Cup November 26: No Class. You will not be charged.
