There is generally about 1 hour of homework between meetings. This homework generally includes students doing some reading or watching videos to gain the basic information we will be going into more depth in during class. There is a project at the end where students find a "problem" or issue that needs to be addressed in their community and they research and propose how to solve it. It is a great way to get them thinking about the importance of citizenship. I usually introduce this in week 5 or 6 so they have time to work on it.
