In this class students will learn and remember the United States Constitution along with the Bill of Rights and all 27 amendments. I am currently teaching social studies and I have done this with my students, and they find it fun and informative. So I have decided to bring it to Outschool as well. I will start by asking students if they know any amendments off the top of their head, which number they are, why they are important, and what they think about each. Each student will be given adequate time to have a discussion about the amendment of their choosing. There will be discussions, videos, and music all in this course. This course will be learner directed by picking an amendment of their choosing for the class as well how it ties into current events happening today around the country. All you need to bring to this class is yourself. Remember to be respectful and listen to your classmates. No prior knowledge is needed to succeed in this class we are all here to learn.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
I intend to handle sensitive topics in the class by creating a safe space for students, encouraging participation from each student, and letting them speak freely without judgement. Also multiple perspectives will be represented in this class by creating an atmosphere where each student can give their own perspective on certain issues, we will get to know each other, communicate with one another, respect each other, and give feedback and flexibility in a positive learning environment.
External Resources
