This is a Self-Paced course for United States History Pre-Columbian to 1877. It covers U.S. History from before the time of Columbus until the end of Reconstruction. This is a regular-level course taught by a certified teacher with two degrees in history. I am also a certified AP US History teacher. If you would like help preparing for the AP exam at the AP level, please see my U.S History AP extension course that can be taken in conjunction with this one to work on the writing and historical thinking skills necessary for the AP exam. This course covers the major events and themes in U.S. History until 1877. Learners will have access to weekly instructional videos over the content, participate in class discussions, analyze primary sources from multiple perspectives, quizzes, and other assignments that help gauge student understanding of the content. No textbook is required, but if you would like to supplement the learning experience, I have an optional corresponding book listed in the supplies section. Self-Paced Courses have no live meetings. I will be available by appointment when needed. I am in the Central Time Zone. United States History Pre-Columbian to 1877 addresses racism, discrimination, and prejudice, as well as social and the government's attempts to address these concerns.
