This one time hip hop class features beginner Hip hop and jazz terminology. In addition we will learn a dance combination to “Space Unicorn”, play games and more.

Class Experience

Beginner Level

1) What will be taught? During this class we will introduce Hip hop steps and Jazz steps. In addition we will be learning a dance routine to the song Space Unicorn and play some games. 

2) What topics will you cover? Hip Hop: Picket Up Bucket step, Block Step, donkey kicks, and  seat spins. Jazz: Step Claps, 3 Step Turns, Passé Jumps, shaking hips. In addition will be be improving our gross motor skills. 

3) How is your class structured? 10-15min of welcome and stretching, 25min of steps,...

Learning Goal is to Have fun. Learn a cool combination, listen to fun songs, and improve our dance terminology and gross motor skills.

I have been teaching dance for the past 5 years. And in the past summers I managed, directed, and choreographed an annual Disney Junior Dance Camp for ages 3-6. In addition, I have  a BA in Psychology, and minors in Dance and Early Childhood Education (P-3). Pursing masters in School counseling

Students will be participating in a physical fitness/movement activities though out the class. Please be aware that your child can end up injuring  themselves. Therefore please make sure your child has sufficient dance space, proper foot ware (choice of ballet shoes, barefoot, Jazz shoes, tap shoes, and/or sneakers). In addition, I encourage all students to have a water bottle near by and is warmed up before class to avoid injury’s. Parental supervision is strongly encourage to help your dancer assure their safety and spacial awareness.
