Class Experience

In this class students will learn with reference photos, step by step instruction, demonstration, and inquiry based questions.  Students will interact with the teacher through video chat.  The class will begin with an introduction to Hawaiian landscapes followed by instructions for how to create a landscape drawing.  Students will learn how the horizon line creates space in a composition by separating the foreground from the background.  Students will be shown how to look for and use...

Students will learn about several elements of art while creating this drawing including line, shape, space and texture.  Students will learn what defines a landscape.  Students will learn about the principle of movement in a work of art.

This is a class I have already taught in my art studio.  I teach a series of Unicorns on vacation.  I am a professionally licensed elementary art school teacher and I am very good at explaining how to achieve success in art.

The student needs plain white paper, pencil and eraser.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Students will be guided through suggestion and positive reinforcement.

45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
